POSITION OVERVIEW

The Estée Lauder Companies’ in-house legal department seeks an experienced paralegal or legal specialist with experience in reviewing marketing and advertising materials to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
This position will provide commercial and regulatory support on the company’s marketed products, as well as support on issues relating to the company’s product development programs and marketing campaigns. Industry knowledge is a must. This role requires an understanding of marketing and advertising limitations and regulations relating to cosmetics, health, fashion and beauty products.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of regulatory, compliance, and administrative, legal experience at firm or company
  • Strong written and verbal skills both in English and Spanish language
  • Ability to manage a diverse array of legal business matters pertaining to the needs of the organization
  • Ability to analyze, issue spot, and cascade advice to the business on appropriate legal action to be taken
  • Demonstrate flexibility to perform other duties as assigned
  • A high degree of responsiveness and communication within this high-touch organization
  • Ability to execute and manage internal clients with polish within a large complex organization
  • Business minded and eager to work in a high-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Preferred requirements:
  • Experience working with highly regulated products, managing and organizing database of claims support, and checking advertising and marketing claims against those databases
  • Experience reviewing claims
  • Health, beauty, fashion industry experience

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the review of advertising and promotional materials, training materials, press releases and similar pieces against support materials
  • Help gather and organize claim support, including managing claim support databases
  • Maintain and help create other databases used to file legal advice and relevant materials
  • Tracking of legal matters
  • Help respond to requests for claim support from retailers, regulators, or international business teams
  • Partner with other team members in the drafting and development of company-wide training and compliance programs
  • Conduct legal and other online research
