We are hiring a full-time Paralegal to assist with litigation, regulatory, and claims management matters. Working in a fast-paced environment, the Paralegal will be an integral part of the Litigation Team working with other members of the team, internal stakeholders, and third-party adjusters to ensure the best results in our litigation, regulatory, and claims management cases. The Paralegal will work with a high degree of autonomy and perform substantive legal work. The Paralegal will also be involved in implementing process improvements where needed. This is a hybrid role.
ABOUT YOU:
- Minimum 2 years of related experience with a law firm or major company;
- Law Society of Ontario P1 (Paralegal) License in good standing;
- Good understanding of law firm or legal department processes and systems;
- Highly organized and detail-oriented;
- Excellent communication, time management, and multitasking skills;
- Ability to take initiative and work independently;
- Strong team player; and
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities:
- Assume carriage of Small Claims Court, Tribunal, Regulatory, and Provincial Offences matters, including preparing correspondence, pleadings, motion materials, etc. and attending court;
- Liaise with the business on litigation/dispute matters, locate documents, collect data, etc.;
- Assist with our self-insured claims;
- Arrange for service and filing of legal documents;
- Legal Tracker administration including opening /closing matters;
- Respond to legal requests relating to garnishments, bankruptcies, assignments, and debt collection;
- Organize files, correspondence, and related documents electronically;
- Support customer service and stores; and
- Assist with a variety of special projects.
