If you are interested in working as a Paralegal for a market leader in a clinical field, then read on as we seeking a talented Paralegal to join our in-house legal department, within our prestigious city centre office on St Vincent Street.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Flexible and willing to work within a busy team environment;
- Be able to work accurately, with good attention to detail;
- Good communication skills;
- Confident in working independently, but also work well within a team;
- Highly organised;
- IT literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel;
- Experience of Scottish Court proceedings essential;
- Experience of English Court proceedings desirable;
- Experience of medical malpractice/personal injury/litigation desirable;
- Preferably have a minimum of a degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) or a Paralegal qualification.
Responsibilities:
The role of Paralegal will include the following duties and responsibilities:
- Document management – collating and checking documents, with preparation of files;
- Assisting with day to day tasks for the in-house Solicitors;
- Dealing with any ad hoc duties that may arise;
- Drafting letters and reports to the client;
- Research tasks and analysis of documents to provide information to the in-house Solicitors;
- Ensure files are kept up to date, accurate and in accordance with company procedure;
- Assisting with drafting of Court documents;
- Assisting with the preparation of Witness Statements/Precognitions; and
- Assisting with updates to third parties.
