Description:
We are in need of a Paralegal to join our team in McLean, Virginia. This role will involve handling legal tasks, utilizing specialized software, and managing customer inquiries. This is a short-term contract position where you will work closely with our team to ensure our legal operations run smoothly. Responsibilities:
- Utilize Adobe Acrobat, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Excel to perform tasks and manage information.
- Handle case management using specialized software.
- Manage calendar appointments and deadlines.
- Administer claims and handle complaints effectively.
- Conduct briefings and prepare legal documents.
- Maintain accurate customer records and process customer credit applications.
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions as needed.
- Perform billing functions and manage the financial aspects of cases.
- Ensure all tasks and responsibilities are performed in accordance with our management system.
- Resolve customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, and Case Management Software
- Experience with LexisNexis and Management System is preferred
- Familiarity with Billing Functions, Briefing, Calendar Management, Claim Administration, and Complaint Handling
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field is preferred
- Certification from an American Bar Association-approved paralegal program is a plus
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
