Description:
We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a meticulous Paralegal to be a part of our team in Dallas, Texas. The selected individual will be entrusted with a variety of both administrative and legal assistant duties, with key tasks including the processing of legal documents, maintaining comprehensive records, and liaising with various entities.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to its full extent, especially Word, for creating shells for motions, pleadings, trial and appellate briefing.
- Download orders, filings, and discovery served, and ensure deadlines are noted on the firm’s calendar for all responsive or other deadlines.
- Engage with firm vendors and suppliers as part of administrative tasks.
- Interface and exchange information with firm’s outside accountant and bookkeeper to ensure accounts payable are met.
- Draft initial disclosures and other discovery responses, RFPs, ROGs, and RFAs.
- Maintain a deep understanding of Texas Rules of Civil and Appellate Procedure, as well as Federal Rules of Civil and Appellate Procedures.
- Use Adobe Acrobat for tasks such as compiling documents, bates stamping, OCR, etc.
- Prepare and circulate weekly docket sheet of all cases and assist with pre-trial, hearing, and detail oriented presentations.
- Take attorney time and create monthly billing statements for clients, tracking payment of accounts receivable.
- Utilize PACER and E-File Texas systems for efiling in state/federal courts and related service.
- Demonstrated proficiency in PACER and e-File/e-Filing systems.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Appellate procedures.
- Strong understanding of State Laws.
- Proficiency in using Adobe Acrobat for document preparation and management.
- High level of competency in Microsoft Office Suites, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven experience in legal drafting and the ability to draft documents with precision.
- Experience in docketing and maintaining an organized and up-to-date docket system.
