Description:

Robert Half is seeking a Senior Paralegal for an international law firm, located in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves supporting litigation lawyers in managing complex litigation cases, conducting legal research, case preparation, document management and trial support.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with lawyers to oversee and organize litigation cases from initiation to conclusion.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using various online and offline resources.
  • Analyze legal issues, court rules, statutes, regulations, and case precedents to inform case strategy and decision-making.
  • Draft, proofread, and edit various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and affidavits.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of court documents, ensuring adherence to court rules and e-filing procedures.
  • Maintain and update case files, including pleadings, discovery documents, correspondence, expert reports, and exhibits.
  • Coordinate with external parties, including clients, witnesses, experts, vendors, and opposing counsel as required.
  • Assist in the preparation and response to discovery requests, including document productions and interrogatories.
  • Coordinate and manage document review processes, often involving large volumes of data.
  • Provide on-site support during trials, including managing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and assisting with courtroom technology.
  • Enter time spent on tasks into the firm’s time entry system and maintain electronic document databases.
  • Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in IP Litigation
  • Must demonstrate strong skills in Legal Research and Case Management.
  • Proficiency in Document Management is required.
  • Should have experience in drafting motions and preparing legal briefs.
  • Experience in Trial Preparation and management of Trial Exhibits is necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Must be proficient in using legal research tools and software.
  • Should have a strong understanding of legal terminology and court procedures.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion is necessary.
  • Must have the capacity to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required
