Description:

A well-known firm in search of an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join their team in Menlo Park, California. As a Paralegal, you will be primarily assisting attorneys in family law matters, maintaining and organizing client files, conducting legal research, and preparing for trials. This role is an offering an exciting opportunity, competitive compensation and a hybrid work schedule in office 2 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting attorneys in handling family law matters including divorce, child custody, property settlements, and marital agreements
  • Maintaining and organizing electronic client files
  • Conducting comprehensive legal research
  • Serving as a liaison between the client and the attorneys, ensuring smooth communication
  • Drafting legal forms and pleadings
  • Compiling and serving discovery
  • Arranging court filings and process serves
  • Preparing attorneys for trials, MSCs, and hearings by creating necessary pleadings, trial notes, and exhibit binders
  • Managing attorney calendars and staying on top of court deadlines
  • Utilizing skills such as Calendar Management, Draft Pleadings, Family Law, Legal Matters, and Trial Exhibits in daily tasks.
  • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal.
  • Demonstrable skills in Calendar Management.
  • Proven ability to Draft Pleadings.
  • Expertise in Family Law is required.
  • Should have handled Legal Matters proficiently.
  • Experience in preparing Trial Exhibits is essential.
  • Must have a strong understanding of legal terminology and principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in using legal research software and other legal databases.
  • A degree in law or paralegal certification is required.
