Description:

We are seeking a Paralegal to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. As a Paralegal, you will perform a variety of tasks to support attorneys, including conducting research, preparing legal documents, and maintaining case files. You will also be responsible for interacting with clients and providing discovery assistance. This role is critical in the legal industry, as it ensures that all legal matters are handled promptly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed research on laws, regulations, and case precedents to assist attorneys in their work
  • Prepare a variety of legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and briefs for court filings
  • Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are filed correctly and deadlines are met
  • Act as a liaison between clients and attorneys, gathering information, providing updates, and facilitating communication
  • Provide discovery assistance by preparing requests for documents and reviewing documents in electronically stored information databases
  • File documents with courts, including through electronic filing systems, and track court deadlines
  • Perform general administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling correspondence
  • Assist attorneys in preparation for depositions, hearings, trials, arbitrations, and mediations
  • Utilize various software and systems such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, CompuLaw, and others to perform duties and tasks
  • Manage and maintain case files in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Possess a minimum of five years of experience as a Paralegal.
  • Must be proficient in using Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS).
  • Experience with Case Management Software and CompuLaw is required.
  • Must be capable of handling Billing Functions effectively.
  • Experience in Briefing and Calendar Management is essential.
  • Should be adept at handling Claim Administration tasks.
  • Must possess strong Communication skills.
