Description:

We are in search of a detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team in the personal injury law industry based in Houston, Texas, 77005, United States. As a Paralegal, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of managing cases from initial client meeting through trial or resolution, drafting crucial legal documents, and maintaining case files. You will also liaise with opposing counsel, courts, and insurance adjusters and assist attorneys in trial preparations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cases from initial client meeting through trial or until the case is resolved, ensuring smooth progression of each case
  • Draft essential legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses, ensuring they adhere to legal standards
  • Prepare and review demand packages and settlement proposals, ensuring they meet client expectations and legal requirements
  • Maintain case files, ensuring all necessary documents and information are accurately recorded and easily accessible
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, depositions, mediations, and trials, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared
  • Liaise with opposing counsel, courts, and insurance adjusters, maintaining professional relationships and facilitating communication
  • Monitor and note applicable legal/regulatory changes and advise the team accordingly, ensuring the firm remains compliant with all relevant regulations
  • Support attorneys in trial preparations including research, document retrieval, and management of evidence and exhibits, ensuring attorneys have all necessary resources for successful trials
  • Use Case Management Software for efficient and organized case handling
  • Handle Calendar Management for scheduling and coordinating various appointments and meetings.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Paralegal or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in using Case Management Software
  • Experience with Calendar Management
  • Knowledge and experience in Personal Injury Litigation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Paralegal Studies or a related field is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong research and report-generating skills
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and principles
  • Ability to analyze legal documents and ensure their accuracy
  • Familiarity with legal protocols and court procedures.
