Description:

We are in search of a Paralegal to join our team located in Boston, Massachusetts. This role requires a highly organized individual with a focus on patent prosecution, who will be part of a team dedicated to filing US and foreign patent documents. The Paralegal will also work on developing and documenting processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the filing of patent applications, focusing on US and international submissions
  • Independently work on patent prosecution while also collaborating as part of a team
  • Maintain effective communication with foreign associates
  • Utilize Windows-based software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as document management systems like Worksite or iManage, and docketing systems such as CPi
  • Demonstrate professionalism and initiative in accomplishing objectives in a timely manner
  • Develop and document processes and procedures related to the job function
  • Show strong attention to detail and be resourceful in problem-solving
  • Have a solid understanding of U.S. and foreign procedures and processes relating to patent prosecution and filing patent applications
  • Utilize MS Excel for data management and analysis tasks.
  • Must have a minimum of 1-year experience in a paralegal role or similar.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Paralegal certification program.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of legal terminology, principles, and research techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience in drafting legal documents and correspondence.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Demonstrable ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must have the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of electronic legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with case management software would be advantageous.
  • Ethical and professional conduct at all times.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the job location.
