JOB DESCRIPTION
The Specialist provides paralegal support for Client Legal Services attorneys. The role prepares pleadings and motions. Under general attorney supervision, this individual facilitates the discovery process, including obtaining records, reviewing documents, interviewing clients, preparing trial materials, and summarizing and analyzing research.
EDUCATION
- 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE
- 0-2 years experience (Preferred)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (IN LIEU)
- In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review new file assignments, draft initial pleadings (e.g. answer, motion, etc.), and draft discovery
- Communication with Claim Business Partners and Plaintiff Attorneys on case status
- Assist with the identification and summarizing of relevant issues; continually monitor issues and update attorney, as appropriate
- Assist attorney in preparing materials for trial, arbitration or mediation
- Review and serve responses to discovery demands
- Assist clients in answering questions regarding discovery
- Draft responses to discovery demands
- Review new and proposed legislation and determine applicability
- Prepare brief to assist client in presenting case in small claims court
