PARALYMPIC HERITAGE ASSISTANT (F/M/X)

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) offers the p osition of a part -time (20 hours) Paralympic Heritage Assistant (f/m/x) in an international and multicultural team at the IPC Headquarters in Bonn, Germany, starting in early 2025.

CORE REQUIREMENTS

For this role, we are looking for a motivated and proactive team member with strong communication, organisational and research skills. The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Aligned with and passion for the vision, mission and values of the IPC. Pursuing a master’s or bachelor’s d egree related to Sport, History or similar.
  • Proactive, ability to work independently, very good organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of archives would be advantageous.Proven background in history /sports history would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

ROLE

The Paralympic Heritage Assistant ( f/m/x ) will be accountable to the Paralympic Archive, Library and Information Co- ordinator and responsible for support ing the IPC’s Oral History Project and the cataloguing of the IPC’s archives.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with the Paralympic Heritage team to conduct research in the internal IPC archive on the history of the Paralympic Movement.
  • Responsible for independently identify ing and research ing key actors, including cataloguing findings and relevant documents with required metadata into the IPC’s online collection management system.
  • Research ing in external sources to find additional information about identified key actors and sending outreach communications towards them directly or their next of kin, in the case that they are deceased.
  • Setting up interviews with living key actors and ask ing next of kin (in the case they are deceased) if memoirs were written.
  • Responsible for sending out and collecting signed contributor release form s.
  • Assisting with the recording of online interviews, for which, training will be provided.
  • Editing automatically generated transcripts, send ing them to interviewees for review and manag ing this review process to create a final transcript.
