Description:

Job Summary The role of the Paramedic is to work within the Primary Care Networks (PCN); Horizon, Whitefield and Prestwich. The role will support the ongoing development of services delivered by the PCN and will be a developing role with the intention of obtaining an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (Primary Care) with Independent and Supplementary prescriber status and qualifying as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP). Options once qualified could then be to progress from the acute visiting service (AVS) into other areas of advancing practice in primary care. The focus of this role will be developing independent primary and urgent care clinical practice.
The successful appointee will initially be conducting same day consultations on home visits. As part of the undertaking of the ACP programme, study time will also be provided to undertake supervision within other areas of primary care, such as in GP practices, in order to obtain the required level of supervision to ensure safe and adequate progression in the ACP role. This will allow exposure to other areas of specific interest within primary care such as womens health, chronic disease management, cancer care etc. Working hours are during primary care service hours (e.g.
9am-6:30pm Monday-Friday), though there are some meetings which will require attendance outside of these times. This is an ideal role for a paramedic who aspires to advanced clinical practice (ACP). The goal of the PCN will be to evolve the appointee to become a compelling candidate for its internal trainee ACP programme (once assessed to have met the required standard/levels of knowledge, skills and experience by the ACP Service Lead).
