Description:
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Post-secondary degree in Social Work, Inner-City studies, Human Ecology, or other related discipline is preferred.
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary degree program in a related discipline OR completion of post-secondary certificate or diploma program in Child and Youth Care, Early Childhood Education, Community/Family Support Worker or other Human Services education plus 2 years of experience in direct client services will be considered
- Emergency First Aid and Infant & Child CPR would be considered an asset
- A combination of education and experience will be considered
- Clear criminal record and child abuse registry check is required ( 3 months from present date)
- Current Manitoba driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required.

- Developed interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise and positively network with other professionals, agencies, and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of child development, attachment, and family systems
- Strong anti-oppressive knowledge and practice
- Knowledge of the effects of poverty and the determinants of health
- Trauma and Violence-Informed practice with awareness of harm reduction approaches
- Knowledge of community resources and social networks
- Understanding of and ability to effectively apply social work ethics and standards of practice.
- Efficient organizational and time-management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, e-mail and internet
- This is a work from home position that requires a confidential work space for phone calls and virtual meetings along with locked storage for client records
