- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, OR a combination of education and experience required
- Familiarity with refugee populations and their needs preferred
- Good computer skills required
- Bilingual in a current refugee language is a plus.
- Transportation to drive to and from off-site locations is required.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE?
- Provide parent orientation to refugee parents on the public school system.
- Organize and facilitate comprehensive parent orientation to familiarize refugee parents with school policies, curriculum, and student support services.
- Provide information and resources to school personnel, refugee agencies and refugee parents.
- Understand what refugees have been through as well as their various cultural backgrounds, and work to meet their unique needs in services provided.
- Equip schools by providing professional development training, information and resources about refugees and services provided to them.
- Develop professional development presentations on refugees and trauma informed services.
- Coordinate and schedule professional development trainings with public school personnel.
- Assist clients by helping to resolve school related issues, including behavioral, academic, and SPED related interventions.
- Act as a point of contact between clients and school staff to gather information, facilitate communication, and coordinate parent teacher conferences as necessary.
- Proactively follow up on concerns or issues raised by clients, ensuring timely and effective resolutions while maintaining a positive relationship between all parties involved.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among district personnel, refugee agencies and the Refugee School Impact Program.
- Work well with volunteers assigned to you, interpreters, and the rest of the RSI team.
- Work collaboratively with other Refugee Education team members to support the overall goals of the team.
- Determine client eligibility, enroll for services and provide necessary documentation
- Maintain casefiles with necessary documentation to ensure compliance with funder requirements and agency quality assurance standards.
- Meet your commitments and effectively manage your administrative duties.
