Description:

ABOUT US

Our Greenwich Plan sets out our vision for the next 4 years focusing on the changes we collectively want to see in our borough and Council. We want to become a more strategic, efficient and adaptive organisation, to deliver for our communities. Our workforce is key to making this happen.
Royal Greenwich is a borough synonymous with first class modern services. Our vibrant, diverse communities span Greenwich town centre in the west, to Thamesmead in the east, from the Greenwich Peninsula in the north to Eltham in the south. Royal Greenwich has a reputation for combining ambition with delivery. We are on a journey towards a low carbon future and the sustainability agenda will influence all areas of the Council’s work.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the Council’s ambitions for our future transport network, implement high-profile schemes and maintain a strong grip on the delivery of key projects.
To be successful in this post you will be as comfortable with strategy as you are with leading large operations. You will need to bring energy, tenacity and strong communication skills. You will thrive on data and evaluation to evidence and inform delivery and service improvements.
Above all, you’ll be committed to delivering an efficient, well-connected network that our residents love – with a carbon footprint that we can be proud of, as well as delivering the councils Transport Strategy.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a strong and highly motivated leader, who is a team player with energy and a strong commitment to probity, honesty, and openness, treating people consistently, fairly and with respect.
Able to understand complex issues relating to local government governance and processes, you’ll be a strategic thinker with the ability to create, lead and deliver innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

You will support the Head of Parking Services in securing continuous development, improvement, efficiency, and success of the department through effective leadership, budget management, strategic direction, planning, management, and governance. You will be leading on the delivery, to time and budget, of a complex portfolio of public facing services that support the Councils Transport Strategy and associated Action Plans.
You will be managing all elements of the Council’s On Street and Off street parking operations and enforcement, Bus Lane and Moving Traffic CCTV Enforcement including the associated software, Camera Estate, Associated Infrastructure and Operations thereof including asset management, daily operation, review function and owning supplier relationship. You will be managing outsourced contracts for the above operations where they have been externalised, monitoring, and managing the procurement, review, contract relationships payments and performance measures for these.
You will be responsible for managing all elements of the Councils Cashless Parking Infrastructure including asset management, daily operation, review function and owning supplier relationship. You will be responsible for managing all elements of the Councils Off-Street Car Park portfolio, including daily operations, repair and renewal, key supplier relationship and internal relationship with Corporate Property. You will be managing all systems and system suppliers related to the provision of front-line Parking Operations.
