This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Parks and Open Spaces Officer to join our Parks and Countryside team.
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
To implement the council’s policies and standards for the efficient and effective management of Parks, Cemeteries, Allotments and Highway verges and the day-to-day management and maintenance of these services including supervision and monitoring of the Grounds Maintenance Contract.
YOUR ROLE WILL INVOLVE:
- To ensure Parks, Cemeteries, open spaces, highways verges and Allotments are maintained to a high standard and provide a safe environment for all users and to ensure the Regulations and by-laws of the Cemeteries and parks are adhered to.
- To manage Parks, Cemeteries, open spaces, highways verges and allotments are managed to encourage use for physical recreation and leisure and to ensure they are a safe and pleasant environment for all users.
- To develop joint working and implement partnership initiatives with User groups/clubs, friends of groups and other users and to initiate review of service provision to anticipate and meet service demands, to improve the overall services of the section.
- To manage budget expenditure and to identify and initiate Special Repairs, Improvements and Contract amendments.
- To monitor the Grounds Maintenance contract and to issue variation, correction and default notices.
