QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION

A graduate degree in Biology or related field and research experience directly related to the topic of the course. Preference will be given to candidates with previous university teaching experience in the subject of the course. A valid passport and the ability to travel to Belize. SEASIDE 2025 BIOL 3682.03: Tropical Marine Biology – Summer 2025
The part-time academic will be co-instructing BIOL 3682.03, “Tropical Marine Biology”, with the course’s primary instructor. The course will be offered in the Spring session from April 28 – May 20, 2025, Monday through Sunday, approx. 0935-1555. The field trip for this course is a 10-day international trip to Belize. Responsibilities include teaching lectures and labs, planning the field trip, test preparation, and evaluation of tests, assignments, and reports. The part-time academic should expect to spend considerable time before and after the official course dates in preparation for the course and marking assignments. Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus and on the field trip. This position reports to the Chair of the department.
