JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Must be able to use a point of sale system, handle cash and monetary transactions.
  • Must have a valid social insurance number and be able to work legally in Canada
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods is a plus.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in the culinary field.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of frying food, steaming food, hotdogs and cutting chicken.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, including washing dishes, cleaning countertops, and sanitizing equipment.
  • Support food service operations by ensuring that all necessary ingredients and supplies are readily available.
  • Follow proper food handling techniques to ensure the safety and quality of all food items.
  • Adhere to food safety guidelines and regulations throughout all kitchen processes.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and timely service.
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and reporting shortages as needed.
  • Packing take out and handing out food to customers
