Description:

OVERVIEW:

The Art Gallery Administrator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the gallery, managing exhibitions, engaging with artists and patrons, and supporting the gallery’s mission to promote contemporary art. The role requires a blend of creative vision, organizational skills, and community engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Museum Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 2+ years in management or art-related roles; Luxury sales experience. Experience in both commercial and nonprofit galleries is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of art handling, exhibition design, and gallery operations.
  • Familiarity with art market trends and contemporary artists.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and gallery management software (e.g., Artlogic, Entrythingy).
  • Passion for Art: A strong interest in the arts, with an understanding of contemporary art trends and a commitment to supporting artists and their work.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Flexibility in hours required for exhibition openings, special events, and weekend shifts.
  • Occasional travel for artist meetings, art fairs, or exhibitions.
  • This position is ideal for individuals looking for a part-time role with opportunities for growth in the art world.
  • Able to lift 25lb and work on your feet (moving and wrapping artworks)
