Yusen Logistics are looking to recruit Class 2 Drivers to work at our new site at Upper Heyford, Northampton depot (NN7 4DE) with the opportunity to work flexibly on an Annualised Hours contract. These are permanent positions but offer the flexibility of working fewer hours. We are seeking talented Class 2 Drivers able to work on an annualised contract, averaging around 20 hours, based on 2 days per week. This role would suit someone who can offer the flexibility of working any 2 days out of the Monday to Friday calendar but able to work more hours if necessary.
How does the Annualised Hours Contract work?
You will receive notifications of available shifts to your device via our JoinedUp system. All details will be shared with you (location, rate, shift pattern, who to report to). You simply book the shifts that suit you.

Main Duties of the role:
As an LGV Class 2 Driver, you will complete both palletised and non-palletised deliveries to our customers across various geographical areas of England. This role can be physical as you will be delivering ‘white goods’ via the use of a tail lift. You would drive a combination of Class 2, 7.5 tonne and box vans, based on the needs of the business.

Key Activities:

  • Timely and safe Delivery of all planned goods
  • Manual handling of goods, including loading and unloading
  • Undertake any other duties as necessary in line with operations requirements
  • To ensure service level agreements are maintained
  • Meet all special instructions as detailed on delivery documentation
  • Ensure all documentation is signed and completed as required
  • On return to Depot, report to office for full debrief
  • Comply with the vehicle security at all times
  • Contribute effectively in a team environment
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle at all times.
  • Provide excellent customer service

About You:

To be considered as an LGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

  • A full, valid driving LGV Class 2 licence
  • At least 12 months commercial LGV Class 2 driving experience
  • A maximum of six points on your licence (excluding BA, CD, DD, DR or DG codes
  • A valid DCPC qualification
  • A valid Digital Tachograph card
  • To be prepared to use manual handling techniques to deliver products to our customers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • To be customer-focused with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • To be able to work within a team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • A flexible approach to your work and the ability to start at different times if necessary
