Trout Unlimited is currently seeking to fill a new data entry specialist position. This is a PT onsite position (Monday - Friday). This position will require strong attention to detail, a high level of quality, problem solving skills and time management skills. The Data Entry Specialist reports directly to the Member Services Director in the Arlington, Virginia office.
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Prioritizes and batches material for data entry.
- Input information quickly and accurately from a variety of sources into a computer database.
- Performs database updates and quality control checks.
- Create spreadsheets to track important customer information and orders.
- Transfer data from hard copy to a digital database.
- Update customer information in a database.
- Organize existing data in a spreadsheet.
- Verify outdated data and make any necessary changes to records.
- Operate common office equipment, like scanners and printers.
- Search for and investigate information contained in files.
- Input text-based and numerical information from source documents.
- Provide occasional administrative support.
- Sort and organize hard copies of paperwork after entering data electronically.
- Review data for deficiencies or errors.
- This is a non-supervisory position.

Requirements:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Has the ability to multi-task and learn quickly.
- Basic understanding of databases. Experience working with a membership database and/or NetForum is a plus.
- Solid typing skills, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to accurately input a high volume of data is required.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- A passion for conservation and/or fishing is highly desired but not required.
