Description:
We are seeking a professional, friendly and energetic individual with great customer service skills to join our team as a Front Desk Associate at our Community Center in the TriBeCa neighborhood of Manhattan.
Our Front Desk Associates are the face of Manhattan Youth and play a key role in creating a welcoming and friendly environment for members, as well as guests and children enrolled in our programs as they enter the Downtown Community Center. This position works closely with our Assistant Director of Membership and Front Desk Team Leader to ensure a pleasant daily customer experience for our members and guests. Qualified candidates will enjoy interacting with people, love being around children of all ages, have a ready smile, and a lot of patience.
This is a part-time, hourly position, 20-30 hours, 3-4 days per week. Daytime shifts (9am – 6pm) and evening shifts (1pm – 9pm) are available, and at least one weekend day of availability is required.
Pay: $18/hour
Key Responsibilities
· Check in members
· Provide accurate information regarding Community Center programming
· Manage after-school sign out process
· Receive and track packages
· Answer phones
· Assist administrative staff as needed
· Perform other job duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Strong communication skills
· Proactive self-starter with a team player mindset
· Experience working with children ages 6 months - 5 years is a plus
· Previous customer service or office experience preferred
· Additional preference will be given to candidates who have or are working towards a degree in early childhood education
