Part-Time Graphic Design and Web Design Lecturers

at  BOSTON MEDIA HOUSE

Graphic design web lecturer positions are available at Boston Media House (based in Arcadia, Pretoria and Sandton) for the 2024 Semester B academic year.
Lecturers are required to teach at the Diploma level;
Successful candidates will be required to participate in the full academic delivery cycle including research, curriculum development, course-ware development, academic delivery (teaching), assessment (setting and marking assessments), consultation with students, quality assurance and general course administration.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or Post-grad Diploma in Graphic Design, or related field;
Knowledge of and experience working with Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, Animate);
Knowledge of and experience working with Branding;
Knowledge of and experience working with Digital Advertising;
Knowledge of and experience working with Editorial Design (digital layouts);
Knowledge of and experience working with Environmental Graphic Design;
Knowledge of and experience working with Integrated Design;
Knowledge of and experience working with Package Design;
Knowledge of and experience working with Typography (Print/Web/Digital);
Knowledge of and experience working with Visual Design Principles;
Knowledge of and experience working with Web design principles and responsive design;
Knowledge of and experience working with WordPress;
Figma experience as a web design tool (UX & UI) or similar;
Experience in designing for various digital platforms and formats;
Knowledge of and experience working with Understanding of GenAI tools to ensure good adaptation to market/brand requirements and enhance the visual design (Generative Art and Design);
Ability to transfer successfully the understanding of brand guidelines to ensure consistency (consistent look and feel for various media outputs);
Ability to step out of their comfort zone when new and emerging design software becomes available;
Prior lecturing experience would be beneficial.
