Description:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Part-Time Head Receptionist to join our team here at Mildmay Veterinary Hospital!
This is a job-share position, working Thursday – Saturday to provide management to the reception team and be the manager on duty on Saturdays. We would consider some flexibility around the shift on Saturday if you are the right person for the role.
As a Head Receptionist, you will provide a friendly and efficient service to our clients and their animals. We are a professional and personable team working in a challenging and busy environment, which makes the role varied, interesting and no day is ever the same!
As Head Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing the reception team, holding individual catch up meetings and regular team meetings with your job share, scheduling holiday cover, recruitment, dealing with complaints, inducting and training new starters and keep up to date with new business initiatives and the training and ongoing support to the team for these.
We are looking for someone who is detail orientated, has excellent communication and organisational skills as well as strong leadership skills. Previous experience of managing a team is required as well as receptionist or customer facing experience. Previous veterinary industry experience would also be highly beneficial.
You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure and also show empathy in each situation you encounter, from sharing the excitement of a puppy’s first visit to the vets or comforting a client who has received some bad news.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Healthy Pet Club programme for the practice and managing reception communication content. Therefore, you will need GCSE grade C or above Maths and English.
As one of our team you will have access to our Client Care Hub. This is a dedicate space on our Knowledge Hub for all client care resources. You will be invited to join a support session within your first few weeks of being in the business, where you will meet a Learning Partner and begin your training journey. You can then join further session(s) at any point in the next six months to ask any questions you may have regarding your training. This training is alongside the training your will receive in practice.
We know that benefits are key, and that your personal benefits priorities will differ from others. Holidays, pensions, discounts, paternal leave, fee payments or share save schemes might be your priority. If you’d like to learn more, do feel free to contact the recruiter managing this campaign and ask them to talk you through our offerings. Or, if easier, you can find a list at on our careers site CVS Employee Benefits- what we can offer you. (cvsukltd.co.uk)
