POSITION SUMMARY

Academic Part-time Position

We require qualified individuals to teach tool safety workshops multiple times throughout the year.
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus at Conestoga’s Skilled Trades campus, located at 25 Reuter Drive in Cambridge, as well as at local businesses. The workshops will be offered on a casual basis and will be scheduled as early as February 2025. Flexible hours are required as scheduled workshops will primarily be on weekday mornings.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate of qualification in Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A), Construction Millwright (426A) or Tool & Die Maker (430A) is required
  • Minimum three years of experience in an industrial environment is required
  • Knowledge of safety handling and operation of table saws, panel saws, pedestal grinders, Mitre saws, belt sanders, drill presses and band saws is required
  • Experience teaching or mentoring adult learners either in a formal educational setting or in the workplace; post-secondary teaching experience would be considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of MS Office suite is considered an asset
  • Possess excellent leadership skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills are required
