Description:
Part-Time Maths Module Teacher – International Education Provider
Our client is an Irish-founded QQI-approved international education provider and is currently recruiting a Part-Time Mathematics Teacher to teach the QQI Level 5 Specific Purpose Certificate in International Foundation Studies Programme during the academic year 2024-2025. This programme is delivered in class in Maynooth.
Successful applicants will have the ability to teach students from a variety of countries and cultural backgrounds of different language levels. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced and skilled teachers who are looking to teach in international education.
Applicants are required to:
• Have appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching the relevant module in a higher education context.
• Teach and assess the required modules on the programme.
• Participate in all College boards and committees as requested.
• Support students in their learning journey at the college.
Teachers report to the Programme Manager and will:
- Be an enthusiastic, competent, and caring educator who demonstrates support and compassion to make sure students achieve their desired academic progression aims.
- Build on the relationship with the educational partner and affiliate universities to maximise student progression and identify opportunities for further collaboration.
- Embed procedures, policies, and requirements of the College and all relevant external bodies including QQI, ILEP/IEM, statutory agencies to support an excellent student experience.
- Support the College’s aims to increase the volumes of students progressing through to our higher education partners.

Key Responsibilities
EDUCATION
- Degree qualified at NFQ level 8 minimum (essential).
- Recognised TEFL certification (CELTA, Trinity TESOL or QQI Certificate in Teaching English as a Second or Other Language (TESOL) - NFQ Level 7 (Special Purpose Award)).
- Postgraduate degree in a related discipline.
- Teaching qualification.
EXPERIENCE
- Teaching experience – 3 years minimum (essential).
- Experience in teaching, assessment and learning support (essential).
- Experience and expertise in programme development.
- Garda Vetting (essential).
SKILLS
- Demonstrate cross-cultural awareness and understanding.
- A commitment to teamwork, and an ability to manage resources effectively, both human and physical.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills including native speaker fluency in English.
- Competence in the effective use of Information Communications Technologies (ICT).
- Planning and organisational skills and an ability to take initiative within the curriculum objectives.
- Attention to detail, thoroughness, and fairness.
- The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- The ability to adapt to a changing environment or College priorities.
