We provide on-site portable dentistry, podiatry, audiology & optometry at Senior Centers, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities & Veteran Homes across 20+ states and are looking to expand that footprint. We pride ourselves on giving each participant exceptional and empathetic healthcare services. CMC accomplishes that by providing state-of-art equipment, an assistant, and handling all scheduling & billing, which allows our associated provider’s sole focus to be the patient!
Position Summary:
A compassionate and experienced Optometrist (Part-Time) is needed to provide care to the elderly. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to seniors, with an emphasis on comfort and respect.
The opportunity is best suited for an optometrist looking to supplement their current schedule and income, while making a positive impact on those in need. All administrative responsibilities including equipment, supplies, billing, scheduling, and more are covered, as this is an independent contractor relationship where CMC provides the administrative services for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams for elderly patients, assessing visual acuity, eye health, and detecting conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
- Prescribe corrective lenses (glasses) and adjust prescriptions as needed long-term
- Educate patients on eye care practices, especially those relevant to aging, such as managing dry eyes, reducing fall risk, and improving quality of life through vision correction
- Work collaboratively with care staff to ensure seamless coordination of care.
- Ensure a comfortable and safe environment for elderly patients, adapting to any physical or cognitive limitations.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current state license to practice podiatry.
- Experience in geriatric optometry care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with elderly patients.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing patient-centered care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule:
- 1-2 Days per week
- Weekday availability
- 8 hour day, typically from 8:30AM-4:30PM
