WHO WE ARE

AvaPharma is a new independent Canadian Compounding Pharmaceutical Facility that specializes in the formulation of innovative and customized medications for our customers.
Our business is to offer high-quality compounded medications delivered to pharmacies for their patients (central-fill) as well as direct to patient.
We operate a state-of-the-art facility designed specifically to meet the regulatory and environmental requirements for compounded medications including non-sterile hazardous/non-hazardous preparations. Eventually, we will also include sterile preparations.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a PART-TIME PHARMACIST to join our team! Must be able to work Fridays (and possibly other shifts if available). TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED!

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review and dispense prescribed, compounded medication (including reading and interpreting prescriptions and entering them accurately into the computer system) ensuring correct components, weight and labelling in compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines within a compounding pharmacy setting.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to NAPRA’s Model Standards of Practice for Pharmacists and any provincial regulations for Pharmacy practice.
  • Adhere to all relevant guidelines of Standard Operating Procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with patients to gather comprehensive medical histories and maintain accurate medication profiles, ensuring personalized care and safety.
  • Address customer queries regarding medications, offering expert advice on drug safety, potential interactions, and proper usage.
  • Facilitate prescription transfers, manage incoming physician/patient calls, and conduct drug utilization reviews for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Ensure meticulous input and maintenance of patient and financial records in adherence to company policies and guidelines.
  • Take responsibility for drug procurement, formula calculations, dispensing, monitoring, as well as offering procedures, worksheets and drug-related information to the professional staff.
  • Oversee and support Pharmacy Technicians, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Assist in the preparation of shipping orders and billing procedures to maintain smooth operations.
  • Represent AvaPharma as a knowledgeable, professional, and respected brand ambassador, embodying the organization’s values and image.
  • Perform any additional assignments as required by the Operations Manager, company, or directed by the CEO.
