Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Have 3-5 years of experience in Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications, with a focus on Spanish-speaking audiences.
- Previous experience working with or for government agencies is required.
- Fluent in traditional Spanish, with a strong understanding of Spanish colloquialisms and cultural nuances across different regions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate cultural differences and tailor messaging to diverse Spanish-speaking populations.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, PR tools, and content management systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in crisis communication.
- Familiarity with government communication protocols and regulations.
- Previous consulting experience
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Spanish-speaking PR Specialist Consultant to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will support our government agency’s communication efforts, ensuring effective public relations strategies and messaging tailored to Spanish-speaking audiences. The consultant will be responsible for executing communication plans that resonate with diverse Spanish-speaking communities, taking into account cultural sensitivities and regional variations in language.
Responsibilities:
- Content Creation:
- Draft, edit, and/or translate press releases, speeches, social media content, and other communication materials in Spanish, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and cultural appropriateness.
- Media Relations:
- Build and maintain relationships with Spanish-language media outlets, including journalists, bloggers, and influencers, to promote the agency’s initiatives.
- Cultural Sensitivity:
- Provide insights and guidance on regional colloquialisms, cultural sensitivities, and communication nuances to ensure messages are appropriately tailored to diverse Spanish-speaking audiences.
- Government Experience:
- Leverage experience working within government agencies to navigate and comply with specific communication protocols, regulations, and approval processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Assist in organizing and promoting public events, meetings, and forums targeted at Spanish-speaking communities, ensuring effective outreach and participation.
- Crisis Communication:
- Support the agency’s crisis communication efforts by delivering timely and culturally-sensitive messaging in Spanish during emergencies or critical situations.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Track and report on the effectiveness of PR campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
