THIS IS A CONTRACT (PART-TIME) POSITION. This position is based at the Collier Street Centre for Career and Community Employment Services location
Reporting to the Employment Services Coordinator the incumbent provides administrative support to the Canada Ontario Jobs Grant (COJG) program out of both Barrie and Orangeville locations and is responsible for meeting program objectives, targets and subsidy expenditures for the program. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Reviewing and recommending COJG applications for funding to the coordinator ensuring eligibility guidelines have been met based on the program guidelines and requirements for the program
- Working with employers to complete all required documentation based on the program guidelines
- Conducting or arranging site visits to the training providers ensuring approved COJG agreements are being met
- Balancing and adjusting expenditures as training agreements are completed ensuring allocations align with the guidelines as well as calculating, balancing and processing all reimbursements for funding to employers
- Entering employer and participant data and case notes into a computerized database
- Participate in all activities, events and services that support the clients of the Career and Employment Community Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successfully completed a two-year postsecondary certificate in a relevant field of study that may include, but is not limited to human services, career and work counsellor, business administration, or human resources
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role providing administrative to a funded employment program
- Experience working with guidelines and financial requirements
- Experience entering detailed data / notes into an online database
- Experience working within the employment industry (i.e. liaising with community employers)
- Computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills to prepare documentation, reports and liaise with employers
- Organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in an environment with many deadlines
- The ability to be accurate and detail oriented in order to compile / organize information, prepare reports, and input data
- Proven ability to work independently or within a team environment
- Travel within the GTA to liaise with employers and conduct site visits with trainers will be required
