Description:

JOB SUMMARY

This position oversees daily package center operations, including the processing of outbound parcels. This role will conduct pre-operation checks, manage sorting and loading operations, and supervise administrative staff, loaders, and sorters. Also, will train and hold workgroups accountable for safety, production, and attendance, while maintaining high standards for productivity, accuracy, organization, and communication. This position provides effective leadership and fosters a functional working relationship with all levels of personnel throughout the organization.
Job Title: Local Sort Supervisor
Job Type: Part-Time / Permanent
Workdays: to be defined (must be able to work ALL 5 days of the week)
Shift Hours: 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM (must be able to work a minimum of 25 hrs. per week)
Shift Duration: 5 hours a day (requires flexibility with Start and Finish time)
Work Location: 3850 MATTE ST BROSSARD, QC J4Y 2Z2
Hourly Wage: $to be defined

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible to ensure that all employees always adhere to safety policies and procedures, operating in full compliance with department, station, corporate and OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct risk management and safety compliance audit.
  • Manages department resources to ensure maximum output, accuracy, and efficiency always.
  • Ensures outbound packages are processed, loaded, and dispatched on time.
  • Establishes and promotes a positive, team-oriented work environment emphasizing employee involvement, pro-active communication, inter-departmental cooperation, and continual improvement on all levels.
  • Ensures all department employees receive specific and detailed orientation, skills and safety training, appropriate materials and information, regular evaluations, and pro-active coaching to support their continued development.
  • Applies knowledge of company structure and operations to resolve problems, make decisions, and achieve business objectives.
  • Generates customized reports, accesses relevant databases, and interprets data.
  • Utilizes details, facts, and information to thoroughly and accurately plan and complete work.
  • Conducts routine inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, supplies, and compliance documents to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and service life.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or International equivalent – Preferred
  • Management experience – Preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift-up to 70 lbs. (32kg) unassisted. Typical package weight ranges from 25-35 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving and multitask skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
