JOB DESCRIPTION:
City University of Seattle in Canada is seeking qualified part-time Associate Faculty members for the School of Health and Social Sciences in the Master of Counseling Program, Calgary Campus. Ideal candidates are qualified, registered psychologists (preferred) or mental health professionals with a doctoral degree (preferred) or master’s degree in psychology, with knowledge and experience in post-secondary education, delivery and instruction.
The MC program’s teaching opportunities include various clinically and non-clinically focused courses. These course offerings may include Assessment in Counselling Psychology, Systemic Theory: Diversity and Cultural Psychology, Professional Ethics and Law, Psychopathology and Psychopharmacology, Research Methods and Statistics, Counselling Psychology Theory, Psychology of Addictions, Psychology of Trauma and Interpersonal Violence, and Group Counselling Psychology. Courses are delivered either in person or in mixed mode.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. - A registered psychologist (preferred) or mental health professional with a doctoral degree (preferred) or master’s in psychology.
- A minimum of 5 years post-registration clinical experience.
- A minimum of 3 years professional experience in the field of practice.
- Registration with a regulatory body consistent with the field of practice.
- Prior teaching experience is an asset.
- Skills in addressing student academic-related issues and concerns in support of retention and student success.
- Culturally competent to serve a diverse student and faculty body.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a learning experience that links application with formal learning and adult learning theory.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented system and deal effectively with professional staff, faculty, and culturally diverse students.
- Ability to present a professional image for the school and City University of Seattle.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and learning management systems in support of quality teaching and learning.
- Personal computer, video camera, and access to reliable internet.
