Global Partner Solutions (GPS) team is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft, and the mission is to build and sell Microsoft Cloud applications, services and devices with partners, empowering people, and organizations to achieve more. In the GPS Global System Integrators (GSI) team, we are looking for people with a passion for delivering customer success working with Microsoft’s partners. As a Partner Cloud Solution Architect (PSA) Director, you will lead a team of individuals who enable our partners to achieve their customers’ outcomes, based on their investments in Microsoft technology. Leveraging your leadership and technical expertise, you will drive and empower the team to lead technical discussions with partners to drive value from these investments, including building partner capabilities to identifying resolutions to issues blocking customer success projects and accelerating consumption. This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 8+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture and/or consulting
  • OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers and/or technical architect managers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (PQS)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 12+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
  • OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
  • OR equivalent experience
  • 6+ years experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external)
  • 6+ years experience leading technical projects, teams, or functions
  • Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications)
  • 5+ years people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers
  • Demonstrated capabilities to Attract, Develop and Retain Talent.: Excel in mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning. Identify growth opportunities and craft comprehensive development plans for direct reports, conducting meaningful development discussions.

Partner Satisfaction: Lead team to deliver positive Partner Satisfaction, and become trusted advisors to partners and their customers, by leveraging technical expertise and ecosystem knowledge to enable defined outcomes aligned to defined partner business strategy.

  • Strategic Thought Leadership & Partner Insights: Understand partners’ business priorities, industry, and segment focus. Oversee execution plans and approach that are aligned to partner business goals and priorities, driving clarity and joint accountability. Coach team to provide feedback & insights from customers/partners to relevant MS teams to enable continuous improvement.
  • Leadership and Strategy: Model, coach, and care for your team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on excellence. Drive execution of technology strategy and digital transformation by your team, guiding technical roadmaps for strategic accounts. Establish and communicate performance expectations and lead the team to accept changes and retain performance levels while responding to changing demands. Demonstrate inclusiveness, inspire a growth mindset, and lead by example.
  • Talent Management: Build a talented and diverse team through effective hiring practices. Foster talent retention by providing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. Create a culture of continuous learning and career growth, ensuring fairness, compliance, and alignment with company mission and values.
  • Deliver results through Collaboration: Be the trusted advisor and technical SME (Subject Matter Expert) of the partners Technical Decision Makers (TDMs) including CxO. Drive the execution of the company’s priorities by developing and executing clear strategy for your team, enabling them to drive partners success, remove technical blockers for technology adoption, and champion ways to innovate and improve productivity of your team. Foster collaborative relationships with partners, ensuring alignment of partnership objectives and effective utilization of Microsoft solutions.
  • Technical Expertise: Leverage your deep technical expertise in IP solutions and Services development, gaining credibility and providing valuable insights to partners. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, driving innovation in partner business solutions. Consult and provide clarity on partners’ strategic alignment with Microsoft’s technology priorities and their readiness to address solution gaps.
  • Learn It All: Model the Self Learner mindset through continuous alignment of individual & team skilling to team/area demands and Partner and Customer Success goals
