We are seeking a dynamic Parts Manager to join our team at our Honda Image Dealership. Reporting to the Fixed Operations Manager, the Parts Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing of the dealership parts department in its entirety, staff, budget and daily activity with a focus on ensuring positive results in deadlines, productivity levels, and quality standards. Achievement of a reasonable operating profit, customer satisfaction standard, cost control and sales volume targets are required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree, Diploma, or Certification in a related field is desirable.
  • 5 years’ experience in the Parts Department, previous warehouse experience, an asset.
  • 1-2 years related experience in an automotive environment.
  • A valid Ontario G driver’s license is required for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Run a profitable and efficient parts department.
  • Adhere to and promote the dealerships marketing efforts to maximize Parts, Accessories, and Tires sales
  • Order parts and tools as necessary.
  • Accomplish objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising.
  • Act as an advisor and profit producer.
  • Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
  • Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the parts department.
  • Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence
  • Review and analyze actions regularly to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively.
  • Handle customer complaints immediately and according to the dealership’s guidelines
  • Hire, train, motivate and monitor the performance of all Parts Department employees.
  • Direct and schedule the activities of all Parts Department employees.
  • Provide technical assistance to Parts Department employees as required.
  • Work with the Service Department to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs/work orders.
  • Strive for positive teamwork with all with all other departments.
  • Attend Managers’ meetings as required.
  • Maintain good working relationship with the manufacturer and suppliers.
  • Maintain effective employee relations within and between departments. Council and address employees with attendance or performance problems
  • Formally recommend disciplinary action
  • Other responsibilities as required by the role and management
