Description:

WACO Aircraft is the world’s only manufacturer of 1930’s era biplanes. Our planes are carefully and skillfully built by hand. Our Centennial business does everything from restoring vintage aircraft to providing new avionics and engines to current aircraft. This position maintains files of packing lists and other documentation; contacts customers, vendors, or team members as necessary; prepares material and samples for flammability testing; and accurately fills customers parts orders, prepares parts for shipping, and receiving incoming shipments, and loads and unloads delivery trucks using company equipment in a safe, timely and courteous manner. Additionally, this team member works as an integral part of the Parts Rooms where there are over 13,000 parts. This may involve running parts, picking orders, and building kits for the shop floor.
As a Parts Room Associate, you will be responsible for managing and organizing the inventory of parts and materials essential for operational continuity. Your role involves maintaining accurate records, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring the availability of parts to support the organization’s functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records of spare parts, tools, and materials.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed to prevent shortages.
  • Organize and label parts in a systematic manner for easy retrieval.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions to prevent damage or deterioration.
  • Fulfill internal requests for parts and materials in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Document and track parts issued to various departments.
  • Input data into the inventory management system, including receipts, issuances, and stock adjustments.
  • Keep electronic and physical records up to date.
  • Collaborate with production teams to understand their parts and material needs.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of parts to identify potential issues.
  • Adhere to safety protocols when handling and storing materials.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, usage, and trends.
  • Provide regular updates to management on the status of the parts room.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management or as necessary to meet the organization’s needs.
