Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Institute of Care Excellence Team as a Practice Educator- International Pastoral Team.
The international pastoral team will be leading the support of international nurses and other professionals arriving at the Trust each month, ensuring all nurses arrive safely, receive a warm welcome and have access to ongoing pastoral care during the start of their careers at Nottingham University Hospitals.
Are you passionate about supporting and developing new starters joining Nottingham University Hospitals? Do you want to develop new skills, working within a supportive environment? Aspiring to deliver the Trust vision in the journey to excellence as part of the Magnet journey?
This is an exciting time to be part of the Institute of Care Excellence, with education and development central to the delivery of high quality care, patient safety and the support and retention of learners new to NUH.
You will work as a practice educator within the international pastoral team. You will also work alongside the practice education team and multi-professional colleagues across the Trust and be committed to delivering excellence in staff experience to all new starters. You will need to be a highly motivated, skilled clinical practitioner, a professional role model and communicator, with evidence of an experience of supporting learners in the clinical setting. Responsibilities will include:
Coordinating the pastoral support for international nurses joining the Trust
Working clinically primarily with international nurses
Delivering clinical and educational programmes in both classroom and clinical settings
Developing and supporting preceptors, supervisors and assessors to adhere to the Trust and national guidelines giving appropriate guidance where required.
Working in collaboration with clinical nurse educators and senior nursing teams to ensure a supportive onboarding and learning environment.
Bring your whole self to work for us at NUH. We love diversity and we value your difference, your unique skills, knowledge and experience. Becoming one of our people may realise your potential, helping us to raise our performance in delivering world class healthcare to the diverse patient populations we serve.
We particularly welcome applications from people who identify as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic, or Disabled, as we are currently under-represented at NUH.
This is an opportunity for personal and professional development within the Institute team where you will be supported to develop your skills in delivering a comprehensive pastoral programme and also provide support to staff and learners across the trust.
You will be a NMC adult registered nurse with recent experience within an acute clinical setting.
