We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our dynamic catering team. The ideal candidate will have a flair for creativity, a deep knowledge of pastry techniques, and a commitment to producing high-quality desserts and baked goods. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for crafting a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our patients, staff, and visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, preferably within a healthcare or hospitality setting.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification in pastry arts.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen management practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
  • Creative flair with a passion for innovation in pastry design.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and prepare a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods tailored to patient dietary requirements, including sugar-free, gluten-free, and low-fat options.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop menus that align with the hospital’s nutritional standards.
  • Ensure the highest standards of hygiene and food safety are maintained in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to maintain an efficient and cost-effective operation.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring consistency and quality in pastry preparation.
  • Stay updated on pastry trends and techniques to continually innovate and improve the dessert offerings.
  • Assist with special events and occasions within the hospital, creating custom desserts that align with the event theme and patient needs.
