Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
Del-Mor Fine Foods is an Atlantic Canadian bakery, operating in Nova Scotia and it offers Adult Baking Classes for beginners to the general public. Our goal is to introduce our students to the fundamentals of the fine art of “Rustic Baking.”
This permanent part-time Pastry Chef Instructor will be reasonable for teaching hands-on pastry classes in conformity with the program lesson plans. No pervious classroom teaching experience necessary.
The pay for this position is to be negotiated. Hiring offers will be determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Associated Degree in baking and pastry arts
· Minimum of three (3) years of work related experience
· Proficient is computer skills
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
· Strong presentation skills
· Strong teamwork, and interpersonal skills, ability to be adaptable in stressful situations, dependable and be able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
· Must have exceptional organizational skills and be able to develop a lesson plan based off the set curriculum
· Must be detailed oriented and thorough
· Must be able to speak and write English, French an asset
· No previous classroom teaching experience necessary, but preferred

Responsibilities:
· Conducts in-classroom demonstrations as required by the course curriculum
· Demonstrate techniques and concepts as required by the course curriculum
· Delivers clear, concise and organized lectures as required by the course curriculum
· Assesses student performance through observation and interaction, along with written and practical examination
· Maintains a positive, focus learning environment during class
· Assures that classes are conducted in a manner that complies with principals of food safety, and sanitation
· Maintain accurate records of student’s attendance and performance
· Attends meetings and facility orientation as required
