Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Pastry Chef to join our team at one of our Independent schools based in Harrogate HG1.

We are looking for a positive, honest and reliable employee to join our friendly and hardworking team. We can offer good training and prospects within our team for the right candidate. As our Pastry Chef, you will have full autonomy and responsibility for delivering the pastry offer, including breads, desserts and food items for other stations. You will have the ability to train and develop others in the team to assist you in running the section and/or on your behalf where appropriate. Throughout all food prepared, you will need to show you are aware of allergies and dietary requirements and that these are taken into account during your menu planning.
You must have proven history with pastry and experience running the pastry section. Innovation and adaptability are essential so that our offer is in line with current trends. You will also be required to support the Chef Manager and Chefs where the business requires as well as supervising a Chef de Partie.
Responsibilities:
THIS ROLE INVOLVES:
Producing daily homemade cakes.
Daily bread making and pastry requirements for lunch and evenings
Management of section including ordering, stock take and health and hygiene.
Following COSHH & HACCP.
To produce homemade traditional cakes, bakes, tarts etc for the main offer and hospitality or events.
Assisting the chefs when needed with serving during lunch hours.
