Job Description
Sodexo is growing! We are looking for a Pastry 2 to join our dynamic team. This position is FULL TIME. You will be offered is a great team environment, work/life balance and the ability to cook healthy and appealing menus for consumers.
Qualifications
You are an experienced baker who enjoys working in a team environment, ensuring high quality results and meeting food safety, HACCP and OHS standards.
During your mandate with Sodexo, you will be asked to oversee the creativity and preparation of all desserts required for food operations, banquets, special orders and take-out orders. You will be required to prepare items from scratch such as breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, pastries and other desserts. You will set up, maintain and tear down the workstation according to food operations guidelines, taste all products made to assess quality, notify the Sous Chef and/or Executive Chef of any product shortages and equipment maintenance issues. You will be asked to prepare and serve products in accordance with established standards for portion size and presentation, keep an accurate count of all food prepared, ensure that there is no discrepancy between the amount of food needed and the amount of food prepared, plan the production of all baked goods to maintain an inventory of fresh baked goods at all times. Also assist in food preparation to create a truly exceptional dining experience!
You will be required to operate food preparation equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions, clean and maintain the workstation while demonstrating exceptional safety, sanitation and organizational skills. You will follow food hygiene guidelines when preparing food products and maintaining the work environment.
You have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role with a focus on high production, excellent customer service and teamwork skills. Strong time management skills. You are able to work under pressure and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures. Related post-secondary education or equivalent experience is required. Red Seal may be requested.
PREREQUISITE: All candidates must hold a MAPAQ Food Handler certificate.
