Description:

Role Summary
Autolus is looking for a qualified patent attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will be qualified with a few years post-qualification experience They need to have a very strong technical background, preferably including a PhD, in a relevant field such as immunology, cell or protein engineering, or cancer therapy. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and proactive, with good communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • To liaise directly with the research and manufacturing teams to identify new opportunities for IP
  • To draft and arrange the filing of new priority applications
  • To identify potential supporting data during the priority year and liaise with the research and manufacturing teams to generate such data
  • To assist in the filing and prosecution of International and national/regional applications
  • To instruct Freedom to Operate searches and assist in analysing the output
  • To conduct regular EP and US watches on third-party patent applications
  • To input information and documents, emails etc on to the case management system
  • To review and comment on documents cited in prior art searches
  • To assist in the preparation of sequence listings and formal drawings, where practical
  • Any other duties as required following consultation with the Head of IP
