Do you have patent experience from the industry, private practice, or patent office? We are now looking for a Patent Attorney to support Stora Enso’s IP related activities. You will be an important team-player in the IP team, work closely with our projects and give IP related support. Come help us replace non-renewable materials with renewable solutions!

As a Patent Attorney you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of different patent related matters, including creating and defending patents, risk mitigation and value-creation, ensuring that IP effectively support Stora Enso’s business objectives. You will have numerous international contacts both internally within Stora Enso as well as with patent offices and external patent attorneys.
Main tasks

To be performed alone or in close co-operation with IP or Legal colleagues.

  • Patentability opinions
  • Patent application drafting
  • Patent prosecution
  • Freedom to Operate analysis
  • Oppositions and appeals
  • Give IP related device to strengthen our patent portfolio and to mitigate IP related risks
  • IP related agreements

Your location will be either Sickla or Karlstad and you will be working in Biomaterials Division. You will report to Patent Manager in Biomaterials Innovation.
Who are we looking for?
In order to succeed in this role, you have at least 5 years’ patent experience from industry, private practice or patent office. You communicate fluently in English, both in writing and orally. Good communication skills in Swedish and in Finnish are considered as a merit.
You have a Master of Science degree in Chemistry or equivalent. If you are a qualified national and/or European Patent Attorney or aiming to be one, it is seen as a merit.
You are a team player with a result-oriented mindset. You are analytical and have a structured and driven way of working. You are proactive and outgoing, with very good communication and collaboration skills. You should be able to work equally well independently and as part of a team. You have a genuine interest in technology and an interest in learning new things.
