Join our award-winning team of national paralegals!
Opportunities exist in our London, Bath or Leeds offices for candidates with a minimum of 2 years experience to join our tier-one patent firm. You will work with a blend of established and emerging patent leaders as well as fee earners making their initial strides in the profession. You will provide a range of support to their client work. Paralegals at EIP typically handle multiple fee earners concurrently and have opportunities to liaise with clients directly. This creates a varied and interesting working pattern.
More details on the role are below. Please reach out to our talent acquisition team via talent@eip.com for more details or apply at the top of the page.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
You will be comfortable working in a modern, fast-paced environment where you are given a level of autonomy to do your work.
Successful candidates will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience working as a Patent Paralegal (more than 2 years is highly desirable) but we would also consider more junior candidates and candidates from a secretarial background within the IP field
- A “can-do” approach
- A consistent and reliable manner
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing priorities
- The ability to communicate effectively
- The ability to work autonomously
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- The ability to foster trust and understanding within the team by showing willingness to assist when requests come in, maintaining a positive approach and showing concern for others by offering to cover
- Excellent IT skills as we are a paperless office and we have very advanced IT systems
- Previous experience working with Inprotech or a similar database
- Experience of a Document Management System
Responsibilities:
Within a national group of paralegals, the patent support team in London remains at the heart of our business, providing administrative and PA support to our highly skilled team of fee earners.
Paralegals work closely with their allocated Fee Earner(s), dealing with secretarial and administrative tasks and allowing their Fee Earner(s) to make the best use of their time. They also perform certain aspects of patent and/or trademark work without guidance, and this requires knowledge of the relevant patent application procedures.
Paralegals should have good knowledge of EIP, its activities and key people, to ensure that work can be handled appropriately for and on behalf of Fee Earner(s) at all times, including when they are absent.
Our unique system of allocating attorneys to paralegals means you are never overloaded with an excessive number of fee earners allowing you to focus on delivering a high quality service.
