POSITION SUMMARY
The Diagnostic Imaging department is currently seeking a Permanent Part Time Patient Access Clerk II to join their team.
Effective Date: August 12, 2024
The Patient Access Clerk is responsible to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging or designate for providing a variety of clerical duties to assist with the efficient and effective operation of D.I. department.
DEPARTMENT/UNIT/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Diagnostic Imaging Department (DI) offers a variety of services to inpatients and outpatients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Modalities offered include X-ray, CT, MRI, US, Mammography (including Ontario Breast Screening OBSP), Echocardiography and non-invasive IR procedures.
Orthopedic fracture clinics run multiple days per week, adding to the variety of patients seen. Patient complexity ranges based on individual patient needs.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology - D.I. testing required
- Keyboarding skills and minimum speed of 35 w.p.m. with high degree of accuracy - testing required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, a data base program and demonstrated experience in computer applications
- Ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with all levels of staff, patients, physicians and the public
- Demonstrated high level of communication, organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated professional manner
- Ability to work in a stressful environment
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the job as per the current physical demands analysis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a hospital or medical office setting
- Trained in EPIC preferred - training can be provided, but must pass required testing
- PACS experience
- Previous registration or booking experience
