JOB DESCRIPTION

The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Missouri is seeking a Patient Account Representative to provide essential administrative support to our Audiology Clinic. This role involves a range of clerical tasks focused on organization, coordination, and communication, ensuring efficient operation and exceptional patient care.

QUALIFICATION PREFERENCES:

  • Experience in a healthcare administrative role or similar field is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional patient experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
Two (2) years of clerical experience; education may be used in lieu of experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in patient accounts, medical office, or bookkeeping.
Effective communication, time management, analytical, and computer skills.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction: Serve as the first point of contact for general inquiries, walk-in audiology patients, and minor hearing aid repairs. Provide exceptional customer service and support.
Correspondence Coordination: Manage program correspondence, including mailing reports and letters to patients.
Data Management: Perform data entry and maintain accurate patient information in charts. Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive materials.
Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Audiology Manager to support the efficient operation of the Audiology Clinic.
