• Department: Geriatric Psych
• Schedule: Full Time Days; Three 12 Hour shifts a week; e/3rd weekend
• Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent
• Location: Indianapolis, IN
  Psychiatric unit for those 65 and older.
  Psychiatrist is the primary provider for patients.
  Ratio is 2 RNs or 1 RN and 1 PCT/BHT.
  Average length of stay is 7 days.
  The team works to stabilize patients psychiatrically.

REQUIREMENTS

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.

• Aid with movement and placement of patients.
• Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Document necessary records.
• Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment.
