Description:
We are currently recruiting for a dynamic and flexible outpatient Patient Pathway Co-ordinator/Receptionist.
The role is based at Clacton Hospital, but may need to cover on other Trust sites on occasions to meet the needs of the service. The successful post holder will be working within a very demanding but rewarding environment.
Providing the best service to our patients is vital and you will therefore need to be passionate about patient care and customer service. The role will consist of booking patients in and out in an efficient and sensitive manner via the electronic kiosks via In-touch. Ensuring all clinic outcomes are recorded in an efficient and timely manner, notifying G.P.s and/or other referrers into the service of patient D.N.A.s (did not attends).
To retrieve and prepare clinic letters, ensuring relevant patient documentation is available for some outpatient clinics. You must possess previous experience working in a customer facing environment preferably within the NHS, possess basic keyboard skills, good organisational and communication in order to liaise with various areas internally and external to the Trust.
You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and ensure notes are available for clinics, etc. Applicants must possess a clear and confident telephone manner.
A good level of physical fitness is required and the skills and experience to perform a range of clerical duties to a good standard. The ability to effectively & efficiently organise workload is essential.
You will be required to work within Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathways, and comply with national and local waiting time outpatient targets. Knowledge of NHS computer systems would be advantageous, but you may also be familiar with other computerized booking systems.
You will be required to work within an existing rota of 8am to 6pm and some weekend work may be required on a rota basis exclusive of Bank Holidays.
