Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Safety, Certification and Airworthiness (SCAW) is currently looking for an experienced or senior, Payloads Engineering Unit Member (E-UM) / FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or an individual who possess experience to become a potential Payloads Engineering Unit Member (E-UM) / FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) to support teams based out of Everett, WA and/or Seattle, WA.
In this role, the candidate will perform or be gaining experience to perform FAA finding of compliance activity for CFR 14 Part 25 aircraft as part of the Boeing Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) as an ODA Engineering Unit Member for the Payloads discipline. The candidate will support a varied portfolio of Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) activities across multiple BDS programs and sites.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE):
- FAA DER candidate or Engineering Unit Member in Training at an ODA
- 8+ years’ experience with Payloads design
- Active U.S. Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Responsibilities:
- Leads analysis of certification planning, testing, and artifacts to find compliance to FAA regulations.
- Provide subject matter expert (SME) support to programs and engineers in the Payloads discipline.
- Mentor to become Engineering Unit members.
- Stay current with design industry trends and methodologies.
- Travel globally to supplier locations and Boeing sites, 25% of the time
