Reporting directly to the Supervisor Payment Processing, the Payment Processing Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of customer payments, analysis and reconciliation of accounts and preparing month-end reporting. The Payment Processing Analyst will also support both internal and external customers responding to payment inquires and ensuring the satisfactory resolution of payment issues.

Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Accurately enter and code invoice payments into the financial system, reconciling payments to invoices, updated accounts balances and the general ledger.
- Manage and administer designated lock box account(s), downloading payments daily, applying payments to outstanding invoices and updating the customer’s account balance. Investigate and resolve data error messages in a quick and timely manner.
- Prepare direct deposit, credit card, or PAP auto bank, payment and fund transfers.
- Ensure all payments are accurately processed in a timely and efficient manner and that they are applied to the appropriate invoice, account and G/L.
- Respond to payment inquiries from external customer and internal co-workers and departments in a professional and courteous manner. Provide exceptional customer service, resolving any outstanding questions and issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the Cash Management to trace missing payments and obtain necessary documentation to support payment. Adjust or update payment information accordingly and conduct necessary follow up with the Sales Administration Centre and/or the customer.
- Return NSF cheques to the customer and request payment. Notify accounts receivable so the appropriate actions can be taken to collect payment.
- Preparing /uploading invoices and forwarding them to the appropriate contact or department/ E-billing platform as required
- Generating National accounts’ biweekly statements
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
- College Diploma or Certificate preferably in Business or accounting.
- Excellent investigative and problem solving skills
- Minimum of one (1) year experience, preferably in an office environment.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Strong customer service skills that are supported by strong oral communication skills.
- Strong, clear and persuasive communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Attention to detail required ensuring accuracy on all related information.
- Ability to work under pressure and delivering on tight deadlines.
